Dr. Rebecca Lopez is an independently licensed psychological associate (LPA) under the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Dr. Lopez began working in the field of psychology in 2000, following her graduation from Southwest Baptist University, where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Business, and graduated Magna Cum Laude and as the Student Delegate to the Dean of the College of Business and Student Assistant to the President. Dr. Lopez served as a childhood specialist and evaluator at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, assessing the cognitive and developmental status of pediatric patients, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism and intellectual developmental disorder, in order to develop treatment plans with integrated medicine.
Dr. Lopez continued her education at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, receiving a Master’s degree in Counseling and a second Master’s degree in Psychology, where she graduated with highest honors and was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda, the National Honor Society of Graduate and Professional School Students. While in graduate school, Dr. Lopez interned at Arkansas Rehabilitation Services and the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. She obtained national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor in 2004. Dr. Lopez was employed by the State of Texas for 6 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, working with individuals with disability issues, such as physical impairments, cognitive impairments, traumatic brain injury, and various mental health diagnoses, including personality disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. During her tenure with the State of Texas, she was selected to serve as a leading advocate for the State’s Transition Program, collaborating with the Texas Education Agency and the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services to ensure students with disability issues were properly transitioned from high school settings in accordance with the Rehabilitation Act. Dr. Lopez became an activist regarding rehabilitation efforts and has served as guest speaker at multiple conferences and presentations, including Child Protective Services and school districts across the State, incorporating disability law and rehabilitation efforts.
Dr. Lopez was licensed to practice as a psychological associate in Texas in 2008 and has worked in the private sector since that time. She is well versed in psychometrics, both educationally and professionally, having performed a myriad of assessments, including IQ, academic testing, and personality profiles for the purposes of diagnostics and treatment planning. She received her doctorate in Psychology, with a specialization in Health Psychology and was inducted in Psi Chi Honors Society for her exemplary doctoral studies. Additionally, Dr. Lopez has taken her love for learning and has shared her knowledge while working as an adjunct professor in the field of psychology at several area colleges.
Dr. Lopez specializes in assessments, diagnosis, and integrated health treatment plans, including the study of psychoneuroimmunology.
Michelle Garcia, PsyD
Dr. Michelle Garcia received her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2003. Since that time, she has worked in a variety of settings and areas of psychology, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and day habilitation centers. A large part of her career has been working with persons with disabilities.
She has specialized in devising behavioral treatment plans for individuals with impulse control concerns, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and developmental disability issues, including autism and Intellectual Developmental Disorder. Dr. Garcia has consulted in many educational and rehabilitation settings, further honing her expertise in behavioral observations and treatment planning to improve quality of life. She has been the guest speaker at a myriad of conferences and workshops across the country.
Dr. Garcia is a published author of nation-wide curriculum geared towards social skill development of persons with developmental disabilities. In addition, she has expertise in performing psychological evaluations, including evaluations for immigrations and guardianship.
